Gamers, how’s your 2014 been in the first quarter? Dreadful? Uneventful? Boring? No games to play?….even though you would have probably amassed a huge library of videogames over recent years (we know the feeling).
Well, if the news source below is true, then look forward to a very exciting holiday season … in about 6 months onwards from now.
6 months! Too far away you say? Well, I’d say the timing is just about right. Being in a recently-rated-most-expensive-city to be in, that Singapore dollar has always been stretched as much as possible. Thing is, many of us veteran gamers have grown up to become responsible people, and as much as we love to strategize about our next quest in videogames, we are attentive to real commitments – basic needs, food, family, kids, bills – and we always have a plan to balance and manage our finances. After all, it’s not cool to game on an empty stomach.
6 months (September and beyond) is just about right to plan and save. Whether you’re aiming to welcome the next-gen Xbox One, finally adopt a PS4 or perhaps grab both consoles at the same time, the last-quarter holidays will be an ideal time to consider as there is likely to be (based on past events) many opportunities for exclusive seasonal sale, bundled offers, promotional tie-ups with relevant hardware, products or relevant accompanying services (eg. Broadband).
Not only that, with the annual gaming convention known as E3 set to take place in June 2014, the flood of game announcements will just provide more reasons to migrate to the newer platforms in months to follow.
The last quarter holidays is also a time where most members of the workforce are rewards with monetary payouts, so the spirit of spending is higher.
6 months will eventually pass. Question is, are you ready to embrace the madness? Start planning now.
