The lucky draw for the Kawasaki Ninja bike took place on Saturday around 6pm. Douglas from IAHGames gave a demo on the game for about half an hour. Some allowance is given to the members of the audience to purchase the game onsite and drop in their lucky draw coupons. Some time after 6pm, the draw took place thereafter and it went to one winner, who happened to be near the stage area.
The actual bike is not at the location, so the winner was presented with a ‘key’ by a representative of IAHGames.
When interviewed, the winner said that this is the “biggest prize” he had ever won.
I met Paul and Lyndall from THQ on Saturday and we chat about their upcoming titles – WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2009; Red Faction Guerilla and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.
On Smackdown vs RAW 2009, we talked about some of the nice additions in this year’s instalment – hot tags, co-op action, and create-a –finisher option. The booth showcasing the game was forever packed with people playing the game and watching the action. I threw in a fan question (on why Undertaker’s entrance theme is not as accurate as the rest) just for the sake of being cheeky (sorry Paul and Lyndall!).
On Red Faction Guerilla, Paul shared about the game’s objectives, mechanics and more importantly the release date – 14 Feb 2009. It’s okay if you have not arranged anything for Valentine’s Day next year, book a date with this game first. You can get a hands on preview of the game at X08..
Red Faction Guerilla plays a little like Saints Row2, another THQ title which I’ve recently completed the story missions, except for the Ultor’s. Saints Row2 scores on its robust character customisation features, full-coop capability for the whole story, and intense multiplayer game modes.
I chatted with Luis from Konami who shared with me on a couple of innovations and features in store for Winning Eleven 2009. I’m not really au fait with soccer games to know the difference between current and previous instalments, but judging from the group of teens crowding the Winning Eleven 2009 kiosk, it looks set to be turning heads.
Mr Luis said the current scheduled date for Winning Eleven 2009 is 27 November.
This is one title worth looking out for.
I also tried Red Alert3 on Xbox360 and it feels easier to manage the controls than in previous titles of Command and Conquer. Red Alert3’s storyline seems lighter than C&C; the tutorial mode is hilarious.
