I have been staying at Woodlands, a nothern district in Singapore, for almost 3 years and I have only recently discovered a Halal-certified seafood restaurant located within a park enjoined by a long jetty, surrounded by breezy winds and a calming water view. If you’re driving or getting there by cab, make your way to Woodlands Waterfront Park, located at 6A Admiralty Road West, postal code 757445. If you’re taking public bus, get on board service number 856 from Yishun or Woodlands bus interchange.
Enjoy a nice walk along a fenced pier (no worries about small children running about) until you reach a longhouse located at an intersection where the walkway turns right. Welcome to ‘Rasa Istimewa Waterfront Restaurant’.
The longhouse has an open window concept that allows the strong winds from the waters to ventilate the place. Don’t worry about rain. The windows can be closed.
The longhouse can accomodate about 100 people in my estimation and patrons can choose to make a reservation in advance. The interior is quite wide and the staff mentioned that there shouldn’t be any problem for wheelchair access. Do inform the needs of your guests to the staff attending to you. They try to accommodate as best as they can.
I have not tried the food at the place but my mum was impressed with the takeaway chilli crab. The crabs are weighed at $48/kg and the two crabs I picked costs $66.34 including GST. Expensive? Yes. Lip-smacking delicious? Hell yeah!
Here’s a photo of their namecard if you need some contact details.

If you’re a big fan of WWE shows, you may be aware (whether you’re pleased or not) that Sheamus is 2012 Royal Rumble winner and will earn a title match at Wrestlemania 28. I’m happy for him, and I look forward to seeing more of him in WWE shows.
But lately I realise that Sheamus could have an alternative job ready if he’s ever retiring from the high-risk nature of WWE shows. Behold, for the Darkness had identified him as one of those who could wield the powers of Darkness…it even gave him a new name…
“What’s wrong, fella?….”
Most of you already know that the EA Hardcore Hits 2011 Showcase will be on THIS SATURDAY, 12 March 2011 at the Singapore Flyer. Details can be found here.
But do you know that the Showcase also runs the following day, exclusively for Gamespot Asia readers? That’s right, and this opens up a new strategy especially if you’re planning to storm the IT Show 2011 this weekend at Suntec for some great bargains. Most of you are aware that there is a high likelihood for vendors at the IT Show to offer insane bundles and items at crazy prices on the last day of the IT Show (aka on Sunday).
With EA 2011 Showcase running a second day, you can now consider to drop off your kids and adults (who dont wish to join you at the IT Show) at Singapore Flyer so they can check out the games at the event, take a ride up the Singapore Flyer or book a seat for you at Popeyes’ and complete the day with a nice family meal.
Be sure to register first before dropping by. I’m sure hundreds of gamerdads and mums will be thinking of this alternative too so secure your slots fast!
I had spent about S$200 worth of movies (new and past) at HMV @ 313 Somerset this week. Good thing that some of the older releases are going for a huge bargain. Now I have a problem of deciding which one to watch first….
