29 February is a rare date of the calendar since it appears once every 4 years. Xbox Singapore chose this day to make history with a couple of events.
Firstly, the preorder campaign for Star Wars Kinect bundle starts on the same day.
Sets are limited and fans who placed their order before the closing date are entitled to redeem a special Hasbro Star Wars figurine worth $19.90. From the Star Wars figurine found in my goodie bag, it looks like a decently-polished collectible. After all, this is a product of Hasbro, so you’re guaranteed something of quality.
Next, the quietly-unveiled 4GB White console with Kinect bundle was also revealed at the show. Unlike the R2D2-themed Star Wars console, the all-white console (let’s dub it ‘Stormtrooper wannabe’) sports a glossy finish all over its body, with some black lining. If you prefer a clean white look for a console that would complement your home setup, the time has come.
I couldn’t decide whether to go for the Star Wars console for its glossy C3PO-themed wireless controller or to simply adopt the sleek-looking ‘Stormtrooper wannabe’ console.
We were also treated to a huge variety of sumptuous dishes and desserts, and each of them had interesting Star Wars-themed names.
But most importantly, there were kiosks that allowed guests to test out new and unreleased games being Kinect Star Wars, Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure, and Mass Effect 3!
Some people chose to relive their Star Wars fantasies and pose with lightsabers.
…although no one was allowed a hands-on experience of ‘giving commands’ to R2-D2. The Jedis wouldn’t allow it.
But one guest (Mr Yong) got lucky in taking home a complete collection of the six Star Wars movies in Blu Ray!

You can preorder the Kinect Star Wars game or the limited edition Star Wars console at all good stores now. Releasing on 3 April 2012 at a launch event in Singapore!
