Those who collected their preordered copies of Gears of War 3 at the launch on Monday were entitled to a ‘Gears of War 3 Survivor Kit‘.
Let’s check it out:
First off, the bag. This grey white camouflage printed bears the ‘Gears of War 3 name and logo across’, has a dual Gears logo for its Zip tags, and a handy pouch bearing Xbox360 and Epic Games logo. It is very roomy inside and can also double up as a haversack with its twin shoulder straps. If you’re inclined to use it a sling, the strap is included inside.
Next, we have a green T-Shirt with a different Gears of War logo on the front which includes a cross of the Lancer (yes, the Chainsaw gun!). The back is more impressive with the Gears of War 3 name and the slogan ‘Brothers to the End’. This T-shirt seems free size.
Those who take up marathon or goes to the gym often will like the Gears of War 3 printed towel in maroon. It is also very useful for you to use it to wipe your face with hot water and continue your game if you happen to pass out due to long hours on the campaign and multiplayer mode.
The mini torch and compass seems to serve little purpose here, but hey now you have something to let you see in the dark when you make your way to the kitchen to raid the fridge late at night while waiting for your posse to come online.
Then there’s the thoughtful can of 100 Plus. I would prefer Mountain Dew or Coke Zero (to get in the mood of the colours of Gears) but this will do. Good for one-time use only. Please get more supplies from the fridge or at the nearby convenience store.
Lastly, and perhaps most treasured is the Bonus Content in the form of Mechanic Baird, a multiplayer character in Gears of War 3.
So there you have it. For a totally-free takeaway, it’s not a bad combination of items.
Thank you Microsoft Singapore!
