Yes, L.A. Noire is coming out this month! (20 May for Singapore release). You may have seen various preorder incentive information online (and theyre mostly applicable for US only), so here are the details for those getting the game from Singapore.
First of is ‘The Naked City’ downloadable content. This is available with the first batch of the game, and if you were familiar with Rockstar games, the first run may run out before you know it, so one way of ensuring that you get access to this content is to place an order.
About the Naked City: In this bonus case from L.A. Noire’s Vice Desk, detective Cole Phelps investigates the supposed suicide of a stunning fashion model. Can you help Cole unravel the truth in a city blighted by drugs, corruption and greed, where the death of a beautiful woman is never as straightforward as it seems? Hidden around L.A. Noire’s beautiful recreation of 1947 Los Angeles are 20 police badges to find and collect. If you can find all 20 of these badges, the dapper Button Man suit will be unlocked which provides extra ammo for all weapons. Each badge also provides 5 additional XP which will help further unlock Intuition Points – special credits that can be used to give Phelps a key investigative insight when you need it most.
Then there is the ‘A Slip of the Tongue’ downloadable content. This is only available if you pre-order, so this makes a second good reason to contact your favourite gameshop and secure your copy. ‘A Slip of the Tongue’ is a pre-order exclusive only, and is yours if you pre-order with selected retailer(s) (while supplies last).
About ‘A Slip of the Tongue’: “A Slip of the Tongue” is a bonus case from the Traffic Desk in which a seemingly run of the mill car theft ends up sparking an explosive investigation into the largest auto fraud racket the city has ever seen. With the stolen cars piling up and questionable characters at every turn, can you help Cole Phelps crack the biggest case so far in his career?
Finally, the third downloadable content pertains to a special suit and weapon. If you have played Grand Theft AutoIV and Red Dead Redemption, you would know how refreshing it is to recycle your outfits during missions. Unless you’re in a uniformed group, it is always common to go to work in different attire. If you’re in a similar sector, you would know what I mean. Again, ‘The Broderick Suit is a pre-order exclusive and the only known way to get your hands on it is through reserving your copy with selected retailer(s) (while supplies last).
I shall update this post once there is confirmation on the list of selected retailers. Meanwhile, you should contact your favorite gameshop for information. [UPDATE: I was informed that the retailers include a range of retailers from Funan DigitaLife Mall as well as Comics Connection, FunzCentre, Gamescore and HMV. Preorder ends on 15 May, while stocks last.]
