A rumour was spreading earlier today. A friend of mine claimed that his copy of Knights Contract is in Japanese. Knowing that he couldn’t be wrong in his judgment, I posted a status update on my Facebook profile asking for anyone who had the same experience. However, no one seemed to be paying attention to the game, who is launched amidst heavyweight (read: greatly anticipated) titles such as Killzone3 and Bulletstorm. Even the silently launched de Blob2 was more well-known that this ‘Knights Contract’.
Since the posting, I’ve been getting queries on whether this is true. Was it going to be another Culdcept Saga? Some contemplated on cancelling their orders. So, the only way to confirm the rumour is to find out for myself. I made a call to arrange for a copy of the game to be loan to me for a day, so as soon as I got home, I ran the game on my NTSC/J Xbox360 S console.
After playing for about five minutes, the game seems to be in full English. Check out pictures and video here. Maybe the person who discovered the ‘fault’ was using an imported console or had his country settings set to another place.
So there you have it. Nothing to worry about. Enjoy your Knights Contract.
