According to this piece of news, the Xbox LIVE Version 1.0 server will be closed very soon.
I took the opportunity to load a few Xbox V1 games from the remainder of my collection.
While most people may reminisce their favourite Halo2 moments, I feel that I have had more memories from playing Rainbow Six: Black Arrow. This was the game that got me signed up for SingNet Broadband 512Mbps (and during those days anyone with that connection speed were treated with great respect because that was the best connection to host games). Black Arrow was one of the few games many of us played for months (because high profile and triple A titles were rare then). We even had clan wars online and because there were not many online-enabled games on Xbox V1 then, gamers were more dedicated about their clan memberships. Online training sessions were conducted and it felt ‘compulsory’ to attend because every one wanted to perform well during multiplayer matches.
Below are shots taken from a couple of other Xbox V1 games. I was quite scared to load and play Fatal Frame II alone because it was Thursday Night…
Even though I couldn’t find people online to play with, the 30-min visit to Xbox LIVE v1 server was a nice trip down memory lane.
Thank you Xbox LIVE Version 1.0 for the great memories!
