Was playing a second playthrough of Army of Two: 40th Day on Contractor Mode and I just noticed two WTF moments.
Salem and Rios are bros and they go through thick and thin together, including opening gates, lifting barricades and pushing through revolving doors. It puzzles me why one of them can’t do it alone. At first I thought those obstacles must be heavy, but in my second playthrough, I notice another buffed character opening a gate grille alone and a skinny veteran soldier lifting a barricade all by himself for Salem and Rios to pass through. Why are these characters able to perform the actions alone but Salem and Rios need each other’s assistance?
The other thing is while your AI partner is still clumsy sometimes (no doubt there’s some improvement from the 1st version), he will somehow take less damage from the enemies. Even on Contractor Mode (hardest difficulty setting), save for during direct confrontation with bosses, the AI is almost impervious to bullets. I think he was only wounded less than five times within the whole campaign, due to grenade or cornered fights but my controlled character suffered injuries and needed healing a few times each stage. Can’t say I suck too bad. There must be a conspiracy code within all AI characters.
