10 Oct – Saturday morning.
Because we slept late at 4am, my roommate and I almost missed the daily complimentary breakfast session available from 8am-10am at level 2. With about 20mins left, we washed up quickly and took the elevator down, albeit in a dizzy state.
Luckily we were not too late. We were ushered to our table, but since we saw Luis alone at another table, we decided to join him and talked about last night. We were told that breakfast would still be served until 1030am so there’s plenty of time to chat. Joanne (Replay Interactive Taiwan) joined us at our table.
Today is our last day in Hong Kong, so we had to check out from the room at noon. Upon checking out, we left our baggage with the concierge and decided to stroll around. There was another Taiwanese counterpart joining us, so I decided to leave them alone because I was thinking of locating the Halal Dim Sum restaurant which my friend in Singapore was telling me about. She said it is just above the mosque I visited on Friday.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the Dim Sum restaurant. I thought it would be inside the park located on top of a hill behind the mosque, but all I found was a McDonalds’ restaurant.
Anyway, I enjoyed the walk in the park, but then I was getting a little tired. Must be the lack of sleep, so I decided to return to the hotel lobby.
I redeemed my luggage from the concierge and took out my laptop, so I can accessed my emails back home. Even though I had already booked out, the staff was kind enough to let me enjoy wi-fi access. She gave me a new user ID and password. Well, I noticed that she’s kinda cute and that her name is ‘Pinky’. Hmm…..my mind started to wander……..Alas, this is not the time to flirt.
I accessed my emails from the office to anticipate the work I would need to do when I return to office on Monday. Sigh, work is never ending. I decided to pass time by playing some games on my PlayStation Portable 3006 (sorry Xbox, you never gave us any handheld gaming device). Accessed the marketplace and downloaded a new game – Tetris. Classic but fun. Played a few rounds until I got a bit drowsy. Decided to rest at the guest seats.
Soon, it was 2pm and the transport has arrived to pick up the Taiwanese team to the airport. I bid farewell to my roommate Hank and saw the team off from the pick up point. It was a pleasure getting to know Hank. Although we had problems communicating in the beginning, we adapted well and managed to exchange ideas. I learnt a few things from him.
