If you somehow have no access to credit/debit cards or simply want to control your spending spree by limiting yourself to prepaid points cards, here’s something new to watch out for.
Depending on your style, an average person may consume between 1-4 MS points cards per month, which sums up to about (S$33 X 4) S$132. That’s about the worth of two new disc game releases. Some people spend more or less than this amount, most importantly, we spend within our means.
A new Microsoft Points card was released yesterday (according to a retailer I patronised) with a stored value of 3200 Microsoft Points. That’s double the value priced at S$64.90 which is about S$1.10 cheaper if you were to buy two 1600 Microsoft Points cards together. So if you fall within the above scenario, getting the 3200 Microsoft Points card would save you about $2.20. Multiply that in the next six months and you would have saved $13.20!
Not only that, it saves you the following:
– An additional trip to the store (I know the feeling when we try to limit our expenses to 1 card, but end up needing another)
– Avoid falling into a situation where you end up spending more that you intend to. (you know it when your mum or wife asks you to buy something else on the way back from the store)
– All the miscellaneous expenses (eg. time, bus fare, petrol consumption)
Well, whichever way you see it, there’s a new Microsoft Points card in town. From a gamer’s point of view, I think this makes a great birthday present.
