We all know that games based on movies are risky – we can’t tell whether they will suck or not, so most of us rely on review articles. Case in point – G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra game with its poor ratings.
When I chanced upon the G-Force game, I was very curious about the 3D-Glasses. I tried asking some retailers I met but there weren’t sure. Some think it’s to be used at the movie.
I managed to convince a friend, gamertag JS Darkangel to buy it and try out for me, and we discovered that the pair of 3D-Glasses included is actually meant for the game! Yes, there is an option to play the game in 2D or 3D (as you can see from the screenshots below). On 2D, the game looks just like any other game, but in 3D, you can see the difference between the character and the environments. It does seem to pop up from the screen but don’t expect something like the IMAX movies. Plus if you remember how 3D effects goes, you would know that the image will appear a little discoloured.
The game developer is smart to pack in two pairs of 3D Glasses in one game package. This allows the player and someone else to experience the 3D effects together instead of having to swap one pair around.
While the glasses are comfortable, some of you may feel comfortable after a while. Not to worry, just bring up the Options menu and disable the 3D setting, and you will be able to continue the game from where you stop.
The reviews for G-Force are out so it’s up to you to decide whether you want to get the game, but if you do, the 3D experience is a welcome variation for your kid/wife/girlfriend and you…
