Fans of Batman series are everywhere. The success of the Batman franchise does not reside in the Dark Knight alone but also in the darkness of his nemesis, the most notable being the Joker.
To release the Batman Arkham Asylum game with playable Joker exclusive to Playstation3 is not doing justice to its fans. Joker is not a character that is grown on Playstation machine, like Solid Snake and Kratos (God of War).
Even a big franchise such as Star Wars which had an exclusive character each on Xbox360 (Yoda) and PS3 (Darth Vader) eventually had them on both consoles. Perhaps the decision is due to space restrictions on Xbox360 game disc, (DVD vs Blu Ray) or maybe because Sony did all they can to inject some exclusivity in the PS3 version. That’s all very clever marketing decisions but six months from its release date on 28 August, the core audience would have been done with this game.
Maybe there will be new DLC announced then, but it’s only natural to keep your fans happy. Joker should be allowed to make his presence on Xbox360.
The Batman Arkham Asylum demo is out now. Controls are smooth but gameplay looks to be repetitive at some point. Top marks goes to presentation. This is the Batman game we’ve all been wanting to have.
