The next outing for members of Brotherhood of the Box took place on 1 August 2008. We had 11 members turning up. For some reason, people backed out last minute. Why? Maybe it’s the movie we picked (more on that later) or perhaps it’s because out of respect and duties for the first day of the Hungry Ghosts month, or people just had other commitments.
Anyway, we convened at Plaza Singapura’s Manhattan Fish Market for dinner at 7pm. Meeting up with new people is fun. We chanced upon a gentleman who was in the queue. He happened to be wearing a Ninja Gaiden II T-shirt. Newbies who turned up usually wear Xbox-related T-shirts to get spotted but I approached him, it turns out that he happened to work for Microsoft. If I remember correctly, his name is Keith.
Initially, we found out that we could not place any reservation and there’s a possibility that we could not get seats due to an anticipated large group turnout. But the staff was kind enough to look out for a place for us. We were offered refreshments while waiting. At about 715pm, we were ushered to our seats.
At about 830pm, we walked over to The Cathay for the screening of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Why Cathay? Because we have a BOB member who’s a staff and he could book tickets for us. Movie lasted 2 hours and it was one of the painful movies I’ve watched! I’m not going to comment much other than say that you will enjoy the movie if you leave Logic at the door. The only thing I was excited about is Isabella Leong.
After the movie, there was no incentive to hang around and we headed home.
